Just Random

So I am sitting here in the dark of the house at 6:30 p.m. debating whether or not to work out or just read a book. So for right now while undecided I am blogging with no big news to share or family outing to show pics of. Caden just came running out of his room because his "Baby Dino" was on the fritz. This little dinosaur makes growling noises and bites when you put your finger in its mouth...at least that is what it is supposed to do but sometimes, like right now, it does this ear piercing whistle sound and growls over and over and over again till I reset it. Well Caden gave it to me saying he was sorry (he is not supposed to be playing I just put him to bed) and when I fixed it he informed me that "Baby Dino sleep out here now because it scare me a little bit". It cracked me up. I am actually trying something new with Caden starting last night. We usually go through a routine every night of him picking up all his toys, getting ready for bed, story, I give him a cup of water, prayers, then potty and lights out. Well on a normal night he gets out of bed at least 3 times after this saying he has to go potty. I am always afraid he is going to wet the bed so I let him go but he has also started waking me up 3 times in the middle of the night to go too. He usually doesn't go and practically falls asleep on the toilet. So last night I told him that he was only getting one sip of water before I turn the lights off and that is it for the night. I also informed him that there would be no more going potty after this last time before I tuck him in. Last night he was a little annoyed that he didn't get to keep his spider man cup in his room with him but didn't really have any problems. I let him go potty one time around 11:45 when he woke up but then the other two time I told him just to go back to bed. He did NOT have a wet bed this morning so I am hoping that tonight will be less of him getting up and we will break the habit if him thinking he has to go potty EVERY time he wakes up. Pray that this goes well because frankly I am tired of waking up that much to take a little go to the bathroom when he doesn't even have to go.

Oh an update on my Uncle Rick...Tim, my cousin, got to share the Gospel with him one more time! Rick was conscious for a time and seemed to be able to understand what was going on so Tim said he couldn't let the opportunity pass. He so wants his dad to be saved but he does know that it is up to him to make the decision but now he can truly feel a peace about doing all he can to help Rick make the right decision. I am so proud of him!! Right now Uncle Rick is still on life support so nothing really has changed at all. Please keep praying for everyone involved!

Okay I have decided I need work out so I am getting off now. : )

Ashleigh and Aidan

Most of you know that a while ago Joe and I asked you all to pray for our friends Matt and Jenn who were trying to adopt their foster kids Aidan and Ashleigh. Well the judge ruled to give the kids back to their mother even though the kids had been with our friends for almost 2 years and it had been and the mom was seen as very unfit and it was supposed to be a slam dunk case of the mom not getting them back ever. That was back in December...today on the news it appears the mom has taken off with the kids against court order and is headed up North somewhere. I know God has a reason for all things but right now all I am thinking is that the judge that gave them back to their mom should be fired! But what is needed is prayer that Ashleigh and Aidan are found safe and brought back to FL. where they can at least be checked in on. Please keep them in your prayers and also Matt and Jenn as I know they are very upset by this whole thing.

Wow it has been a long time!

So it has been way too long since I posted anything new but frankly I have been busy! We had way too much to fill you in with everything but I will fill you in on the big points.

We (the kids, me and my parents) went to TN for a week last month. It was awesome I got to see my sister and her adorable little girl because they drove from TX to meet us there. Unfortunatly Joe and David had to work and couldn't come with us so it was just us girls with our little babies but it was really fun. Caden has so much fun with Anna and Casey enjoyed it too but of course she is slower and a bit more timid than Caden and Anna. Mom and Dad took Heidi and I to the mall on one of the days and had us get pedicures!!! It was so great and they watched the kids at the play area in the mall of course while we got them. We also got to see Aunt Janet, Uncle Larry and Ty while in TN and Caden just LOVES Ty. So in all it was super fun and I just wish Joe could have come too.

Joe had Spring Break last week! I was so excited to get to see more of him. Of course I ended up having to have some tests done for my stomach (ick)on Monday and then Joe got sick on the last day (which was this past Monday) but in between we had a blast. Joe weeded the front area for me and ripped down the wall so we can start planting flowers soon. We took the kids to Oakridge Middle to play in the Gym while Joe did some grading. Let me tell you that was so much fun watching them run around and play with everything. Caden is now a fantastic somersalter : ) On Wednesday we took the kids to the zoo and we really had fun there. Joe hadn't been to the zoo since Caden was like 2 months old! Joe took me out to lunch on Thursday and we met Matt and Jenn at Chilis which was nice and then we went shopping for the kids Easter basket stuff. It was awesome having Joe with me to join in on that stuff since usually he has to work and I buy everything and just show him what we got them.

The weekend was crazy with Easter and the Easter Egg Party. On Saturday I watched Alyssa and Allison so our friends could move into their new house. I am so excited to have them so much closer now! Caden and Casey LOVED having the girls at the house and I have to say we had a really good time outside getting dirty and coloring with water and chalk. Then that night we had a Easter Egg Party where Honey and Papa come over and we colored eggs at Mom and Dad's house. Caden is all about Easter Eggs now. Easter Sunday we had breakfast with my parents and Honey and Papa then had a egg hunt before church. After Church we went to Lely Country Club and met Dad's side of the fam for dinner. We hadn't seen them for a long time so that was really nice!! I have to say I was proud of Caden and Casey because they didn't get a nap and were still really good and mostly quiet at the club.

I will post pictures once my computer will allow me for some reason it is protesting that process. Mom and Dad have headed to Disney for their anniversary so I will try to just go over there and use thier computer at some point : )

Sorry it is so long and I will try to keep up with the posts more often though I am pretty sure most everyone who would read this has facebook and already knows these things...

Casey's new bed!

So for a little while now Casey has been telling us in her own little ways that she is ready for her toddler bed. She would pile up her stuffed animals so she could reach one of her shelves and she tried on many occasions to climb out of the crib. Well her little bed came yesterday and Mom and I put it together for her. This wasn't an easy thing since most of the screws didn't fit in the little holes they said they went in and there was like a zillion itsy bitsy teeny tiny screws that were nearly impossible to even hold on to. It took us three hours to put the bed together but I will say some of that was because Caden wanted to help so he got a little in the way and then Casey was not happy about having to wait in the Caden's room because I didn't want her getting any of the small pieces. I don't really know why she was so upset though because if I had taken the gate down she probably would have spent most of her time in there anyway but boy you put that gate up and my daughter doesn't like to be confined! Anyway three hours later the bed was finished and Casey was soooo excited. It was well worth the time and effort. The bed is adorable and Casey loves it so much.

Caden told me "Bug's bed is cool Mama!" so it won his approval which is big in Casey's book. They spent the remainder of the night playing in Casey's room which is now completely baby proofed and they took turns laying down in the bed and saying goodnight to each other. When the time came for her to go to bed for real I was a little nervous because she cried for two minutes straight but then just fell asleep in the bed. This might be because of the new bed but I think she was more over tired than anything else because she has only done the crying thing if I keep her up too late and it was an hour past her normal bed time. She slept all night long in the bed without getting out and running around so I think it was a success. I was surprised she didn't play more but she is different than Caden in that way I guess. This morning she came to her door and just played on the other side of it till Joe came to get her up and she wanted to show him her room since she didn't realize he had snuck into her room the night before to see her when he got home from work.

I took some pictures of her first time seeing the bed and you can totally tell how excited she was. Enjoy!

Here are the pictures of Feb. '09 We went to the fair too I had forgotten about that and also it was my birthday and Papa's 80th birthday. The pictures of the beach are a little cloudy because that was the first day of the Sea fog that came and hung around Naples like a scarey movie. It was really freaky actually and cool. Enjoy!

Feb 2009

This month has been pretty busy. The kids have been mostly healthy this month which is wonderful only a few days of them feeling icky, like today Caden woke us up because he needed to throw up but he is now feeling better and able to keep his breakfast down. Mom has been very sick this will her 4th time going to the doctor this month. She has gone every week because they keep giving her antibiotics that aren't working. So right now she is on her way to get a chest x-ray.
Honey has had some appointments too to hopefully help her with her memory we will find out more about that in march at her next neurologist appointment. Speaking of Honey she told us about this great flea market that has a farmers market. We went to it a week ago and it was so cool! The flea market was huge and tons of fun because I personally love tourist stuff and they had toys and things for a lot cheaper but I didn't buy anything because Caden wasn't listening to me so he lost the right to a toy. I can't wait to go back to the farmers market part of it because they had beautiful veggies and fruits for great prices! I have a hard time feeding the family fresh healthy things because they are so wickedly expensive at the grocery store so we do frozen everything and just stick to apples and bananas. It will be so great to have more options!
Casey got to go to the beach for the first time ever this month too! The kids and I met Sarah and her girls at Seagate and everyone had a great time. Casey was a little apprehensive about the sand at first but then she really enjoyed it. She also liked the water even though it was like ice! Caden of course was in his element. He had a great time playing with Alyssa and playing in the waves. I don't think he really sat down at all even to eat lunch he ran around. I can't wait to take them back again hopefully this next week if it is warm enough.
Valentines Day was fun Caden and Casey loved the little dogs I got them and made heart magnets for their presents to people. Joe went to the North Carolina game in Miami for his present and he made me a bear from Build-a-Bear which I LOVE!!! He is the best.
I finally got to meet Ethan Deering at Jhenna's baby shower and he was soooo sweet and LITTLE! Only 6lbs and some change so he was so much smaller than any baby I have ever seen or gotten to hold. My babies came out half grown so it was quite different. I was so glad I got to see Jhenna too because I don't usually get to see her often and she is wonderful!! I am so glad Jon found her : )
In all it was a great month and we really had fun. I can't wait for next month we have a lot going on with all the birthdays and vacations! I will post pictures of Feb. soon

January 09

Just some catching up

So I haven't posted anything in a while because of just the craziness that is life. The kids both got really sick with super high fever that reached the max of 106.2 for Caden and 105.6 for Casey so I was a very nevervous mommy for awhile. Caden's fever was also joined by him throwing up because undoubtedly that is how his body deals with extremely high fevers. After numerous trips to the Dr. Wilson's office and a trip to DSI for some blood work for poor Caden we still are unsure what it was that made them so sick but frankly I don't care because God was so good! He had Casey have an ear infection along with all the other junk so she had to be put on meds for that and amazingly they cleared up the throat, fever, and everything else even though she actually had a virus not whatever they other thing is. So we put Caden on them too and it was all better YEA!!! Another God thing is that because they worked on our kids they gave the meds to another little kid that was sick with the same stuff and it cleared him up too so I am sure his mom was very happy too. : )

Now that they are better we took them to Disney for the day and had a great this week. Animal Kingdom was the park we went to and it was really fun. Both kids had a great time and they really liked the animals but they definetly like Magic Kingdom better I think because it is more Mickey Mouse. It was a long day Mom and I left at 5:30 a.m. and we got home around 6:30 p.m. but it saved us lots of money doing it that way and we are already planning on doing it again!

Caden and Casey have been enjoying playing outside whenever they get the chance and Caden loves his bike though he still won't use the pedals! Casey is walking so well and running everywhere. She is talking really good now too she can repeat just about anything you want her too. She still gets confused though sometimes and will call a cow a dog or cock-a-dodado when she should bark but we are working on it and it provides a lot of entertainment!

Joe has been very busy with work and he had to take care of the kids last saturday afternoon when he got off work because I had to take my "super dooper pills" that pretty much knock me out for the day for my head. He was great and even cooked dinner the next day when we had friends over! He made his awesome hamburgers and some new recipe that he saw on the food network for nachos that was made with potatos...it was so AMAZING! He has to make it again for Super Bowl Sunday but other than that he is hopefully going to be able to relax this weekend after work.

Well this is long so I am going to end this I will post again another day : )

christmas 08 pictures

Christmas 2008

Christmas 08

Christmas is my favorite holiday and one of the main reason (aside from the whole reason we celebrate which is Jesus) is that everyother year the whole family gets together. This year was that year!! My sister, Heidi, and her family can down and the best part of that was Heidi and Anna stayed for a whole extra week! Aunt Janet, Uncle Larry and Ty came down for a whole week and that made my little boy so happy since Ty is his hero.

We kicked it off with our annual gingerbread party the Sunday before Christmas and everyone had such a great time. It is even better this year as the kids were able to participate. Caden of course had to help Ty because that is just they way it has to be : )

In the week that followed it was full of fun. Uncle Larry took Dave and Joe fishing twice while the girls all went shopping. Joe caught his first Bass and another fish which I have forgotten the name of but it was yummy! Caden got to go fishing in Uncle Larry's bait bucket which made U. Larry an all time favorite person. Ty pretended to eat the little shiners and Caden gave them kisses (we got it all in the pictures I am posting)

Christmas Eve was at the Krouts as always and was a very fun time for everyone the kids had a great time but were very tired by the end of it. Casey got to show off a little bit of her walking skills but she was extremely shy that night so didn't want to be the center of attention. Anna shined though as she usually does. She is such a star!

Christmas Morning was awesome. The kids had so much under the tree. Anna and Caden got Tricycles and Casey and Anna got kitchens so the play time was never ending. Casey loves to play cook and Caden just rides the tric all over the house though he still doesn't want to work the pedals correctly he finds them annoying. Anna had to pack up her toys because her daddy was driving home the next day and all the toys wouldn't fit on the plane when it was her turn to go home. She shared Casey and Caden's toys though which worked out as they got mostly matching gifts. Caden also got a fishing pole which Ty showed him how to use.

The rest of the time together was really nice we let the kids play in the sandbox, swim, and just run around and I got some great sister time with Heidi which was much needed. Oh Dad got Mom a Wii so of course Joe has throughly enjoyed that and went out and got Tiger Woods Golf for it and he has been a very happy boy.

My biggest present from my husband was that I thought he was going to work all two weeks that he had off at UPS to make extra money but that meant I wouldn't see him from 8 in the morning till 9 or so at night and I was a little upset about it. Well Joe called his boss and talked to him and his boss agreed that he needed to spend the time with his family and that there would be plenty of opportunites for him to make more hours another time. Joe didn't tell me he called though so when he hung up and came out of the room he told me he was off! He only had to work his normal shift at night! I was so excited and if I didn't get anything else for Christmas it would have been okay by me. My husband is the greatest!

So this was a very long post and I still know I didn't put all the fun stuff in there that we did but I will stop now. Enjoy the pictures. We actually didn't get as many as we usually do because everyone was so wrapped up in just enjoying eachother.

Disney

Here are the pictures of Disney. We had such a wonderful time. The kids really loved it and are so excited to go again. Meeting Mickey and Minnie was the highlight for both of them and getting to see where they live : ) We only did the one park this time but when we go back in Jan or Feb we are going to go to the others. Can't wait!! Caden keeps asking when he can go visit Mickey again.
